WILDGROWTH LEARNING

GET TO KNOW US

Are you concerned that your child isn’t keeping up in class?  Have you been assured that they will catch up when they’re ready?  Does homework control your evening and end in tears?  If your child is struggling with reading and spelling there is a reason why.  The “wait and see” approach will only erode your child’s self confidence and put them further behind their peers.  At WildGrowth Learning LLC, we provide a comprehensive screening that looks at why your child is struggling and provides concrete recommendations to correct the problem.

As a special education teacher for 15 years, I learned quickly that most of the students I was working with had reading challenges,  I pursued a master’s degree in reading to be able to help these students, but the strategies I learned were just more band aids without addressing the underlying causes.  And then I learned about Orton-Gillingham based interventions.  These strategies are the key to the mystery of why these bright students couldn’t read at an expected level.  As a certified Dyslexia Therapist through Wilson Language and the International Dyslexia Association, I’ve been working with these programs for over eight years now and am amazed by the results every time.

All WildGrowth families will receive:

  • Comprehension screening

  • Programs tailored to your child's needs

  • Trained reading coaches

  • Convenient online payment and progress updates

WHAT WE DO

OUR SERVICES

ORTON-GILLINGHAM INTERVENTIONS

Orton Gillingham interventions are recognized by the International Dyslexia Association as multisensory methods that are effective in addressing the learning needs of dyslexic children and adults.  Many of our clients do not have a formal dyslexia diagnosis but may have an IEP for specific learning disabilities, a 504 for an auditory processing weakness, or their child may  be struggling in school and parents are looking for answers.

FAST FORWORD

Fast ForWord is recommended to our clients who need additional support in language processing, attention, and/or memory.  It is a language, literacy and cognitive skill intervention that uses the principles of neuroplasticity—the ability of the brain to rewire and improve—to remediate the underlying causes of language and reading difficulties.

DEANNA DOBBS

DYSLEXIA THERAPIST
FOUNDER

I became a teacher because I wanted to work with children who didn’t like school.  I soon realized the biggest problem for these students was reading. I was shocked.  I love to read, and I couldn’t imagine them not being able to share that joy. I decided a masters degree in reading would give me the skills I needed to help. Although I learned a lot about comprehension and vocabulary, what about the kid who just can’t read?  Finally, I got the chance to train with Wilson Language and found the key to unlocking reading skills. Since then, I have worked with dozens of people of all ages, and the program works every time. Now I’m lucky enough to share my love of reading every day!

TESTIMONIALS

HAPPY CLIENT, HAPPY US

"Our daughter worked with DeAnna during her 3rd and 4th grade years.  We saw tremendous progress in her decoding and fluency skills, which then led to an increase in her reading comprehension.  In addition to her academic progress, our daughter's self-confidence and self-esteem skyrocketed.  She really enjoyed the positive one-on-one attention that DeAnna gave her and was very proud of her improvement.  DeAnna met our daughter where she was and found the best way to develop her reading skills.  We highly recommend DeAnna for private reading tutoring."
